River Rep Theatre Company
presents
Larry Shue’s
The Foreigner
at the Chester Meeting House
july 25–august 12, 2007
Hoping for a little peace and quiet at a fishing lodge in rural Georgia, Charley Baker is introduced to the locals as a “foreigner” who speaks no English. That’s all it takes to launch this truly hilarious American farce, hailed by The New Yorker as “one comic surprise after another.”
Playwright Larry Shue brilliantly illustrates the ignorance of prejudice, while keeping the audience howling. Filled with hilarious situations and a zany cast of characters, this comic gem has never felt more relevant and fresh.
Directed by Jenn Thompson and starring River Rep favorites Warren Kelley, Evan Thompson, Joan Shepard, and Owen Thompson,
The Foreigner is the perfect summer evening’s entertainment!
The Foreigner runs July 25th through August 12th at The
Chester Meeting House (located at the intersection of Goose Hill
Road and Liberty Street in Chester, CT) — with a special Opening Night Gala performance Thursday, July 26th at 7 pm.
